STOCKHOLM CITY HALL Is built on the island of Kungsholmen, one of the 14 islands that are part of Stockholm. The building, facing Lake Mälaren, was designed by one of the most famous Swedish architects of the time, Ragnar Östberg and it was inaugurated on June 23, 1923.
Vaxholm is part of the Stockholm Archipelago. With its almost 30.000 islands and islets, the Stockholm Archipelago is not only one of the largest in the world, but it was designated as a protected RAMSAR Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1989.
